Officers from the 25th District responded to a “person with a gun” call outside a bar on the 3400 block of North 2nd Street at 2:40 a.m., authorities said.

Police arrived to find a Hispanic man lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:59 a.m., officials said.

The man had been inside the bar before being removed by security at an unspecified time, investigators said. He later returned with a firearm and was confronted by security, who shot and killed him, according to police.
